At Raindrop, we believe in more than just clean cars. We care about people and are committed to giving back to the communities we serve. That’s why we’re excited to introduce Wash Away Hunger Wednesdays, a year-long campaign dedicated to fighting food insecurity in central Alabama.
Raindrop will donate $1 for every car washed on Wednesdays to the Community Food Bank of Central Alabama! That means every time you come to our wash, you’re not just keeping your car clean, you’re helping put meals on the table for families in need.
Why It Matters
Food insecurity is a serious issue in our community:
- • 1 in 6 people in central Alabama face hunger.
- • 1 in 5 children go to bed hungry.
- • Lack of access to nutritious food increases the risk of high blood pressure, diabetes, and other health challenges.
Meet the Community Food Bank of Central Alabama
The Community Food Bank of Central Alabama is a vital force in fighting hunger. The Community Food Bank supplies millions of meals each year to over 300 distribution partners, including food pantries, shelters, and children’s programs across 12 counties. They operate a fleet of refrigerated trucks to deliver food to their partners and pick up donated food from over 100 grocery stores to distribute throughout the community.
In 2024, CFB provided more than 24.6 million pounds of food, and thanks to their ability to source food at lower costs, just $1 can provide four meals to a person in need.
